Mixpac MA / MB / MC / MCX Compatibility Guide: Which Static Mixers Are Interchangeable

Table of Contents

Short answer: A Mixpac-series static mixer only fits the cartridge that shares its interface geometry. Mixpac A-System nozzles (MAH, MAHX, MAQ) use a bayonet twist-lock and interchange with any 50 mL bayonet cartridge — including Nordson EFD and most generic A-System mixers. Mixpac C-System nozzles (MCH, MCQ) use a bell / retaining-nut fit and interchange across C-System barrels. Mixpac B-System (MBH, MBHX) and F-System (MFH, MFQX) use patented interlock connections that are generally not cross-compatible with other brands. The full matrix — and a two-minute check that removes all doubt — is below.

Why “Compatible” Depends on the Interface, Not the Brand

Static mixers are disposable. What actually decides fit is the mechanical interface at the cartridge mouth: the bayonet lugs, the bell collar, or the interlock keys. Mixpac, Nordson EFD, 3M and most private-label makers all build to a small set of shared physical standards. When two nozzles share the same geometry and ratio range, they are physically interchangeable — even if the boxes carry different brands. When the interface is proprietary, no amount of “it looks close” makes it safe. Distributor compatibility matrices make the same point: B-System and F-System use patented connections that are “generally not compatible with other systems.”

Nordson EFD and 3M EPX Cross-Fit

Nordson EFD’s side-by-side 50 mL cartridges use the same bayonet / bell geometry as the Mixpac A-System, so most A-System nozzles (MAH, MAHX) seat correctly. 3M’s Scotch-Weld EPX uses its own EPX bayonet / bell on 48.5–50 mL and 200/400 mL cartridges; EPX nozzles are sized for EPX barrels, so treat EPX as its own sub-family rather than assuming A-System interchange. When in doubt, the two-minute check below settles it.

When Mixing Brands Backfires

  • Forcing a proprietary interface. B-System and F-System interlocks are designed to resist cross-fit. Forcing a bayonet nozzle onto an interlock cartridge leaks Part A/B before mixing — producing a soft, non-curing bead.
  • Ratio mismatch. A 1:1 nozzle on a 10:1 cartridge under-mixes; the joint stays tacky. Always match the molded ratio code.
  • Element-color confusion. Round (helical) elements are usually white/yellow/blue; square (Quadro) elements are green for 1:1–2:1 and orange for 4:1–10:1. Same color does not mean same system.

Confirm Interchangeability in 2 Minutes

  1. Read the molded code. Brand, diameter and element count are often molded into the nozzle body (e.g., “MAH 05-20T”). That string tells you the family and ratio.
  2. Match the interface. Bayonet = A-System class; bell nut = C-System class; interlock = B/F proprietary.
  3. Still unsure? Send us a photo of your gun tip or current nozzle and we’ll confirm the exact cross-compatible Haijing part.

Haijing A / B / C / F-System Mixers

adhesive mixing nozzle

Haijing builds disposable mixers in the A, B, C and F interface families, each engineered to the geometry above. Our A-System and C-System mixers follow the open bayonet / bell standards and interchange with the cartridges listed in the matrix; our A-System nozzle line covers 1:1 through 10:1. For B/F interlock formats we supply OEM-matched parts — tell us your cartridge and we’ll point you to the right one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a generic nozzle on a Mixpac A-System cartridge?

Yes — any nozzle built to the A-System bayonet geometry and the correct ratio fits. That includes Nordson EFD 50 mL bayonet nozzles and generic A-System mixers. Match the ratio code (MAH for 1:1/2:1, MAHX for 4:1/10:1).

Are Mixpac B-System nozzles compatible with other brands?

Generally no. B-System and F-System use patented interlock connections intended to prevent cross-contamination and are not cross-compatible with other brands. Use OEM-matched B/F nozzles.

What does the element color mean?

Round (helical) elements are typically white, yellow or blue; square (Quadro) elements are green for 1:1–2:1 ratios and often orange for 4:1–10:1. Color signals geometry and ratio range, not brand.

My nozzle threads on but the mix is streaky. Why?

Two likely causes: the ratio code doesn’t match your cartridge (under-mixing), or you’ve forced a near-but-not-equal interface so Part A/B isn’t fully separated until mixing. Re-check the molded code and the interface type.

How do I know which Mixpac series I have?

Read the molded code on the nozzle body, or check your cartridge’s system letter (A/B/C/F printed on the barrel). If the label is gone, email us a photo of the cartridge mouth and gun.

Conclusion

Compatibility is an interface problem, not a brand problem — except where the interface is patented. A-System (bayonet) and C-System (bell) nozzles are broadly cross-compatible; B-System and F-System interlocks are OEM-matched. Pick by interface + ratio, and when the label is missing, send a photo. Browse Haijing mixers by system or pair them with the right cartridge.
